South Korean investment in Indonesia has increased rapidly, making Indonesia an important partner for South Korea in the ASEAN region. The Federation of Korean Industries has noted that Indonesia has become a crucial supplier to Korea, particularly due to Indonesia’s status as the world’s largest nickel producer. This indicates that Indonesia’s economic significance is set to grow in the coming years. 

Moreover, Indonesia has set up new industries for digital services, health services, electronic assembly, and communication tools, and the processing of chemical and mineral products. Thus, this is the right time to invest in Indonesia in these areas to promote sustainable growth and locate the best Indonesian business partners to create joint ventures.

The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and the IIPC Seoul are actively encouraging South Korean businesses to invest in Indonesia in three key areas: global health architecture, digital transformation, and energy transition. This is in line with Indonesia’s Presidency in the G20.
