DiscoverADCO: Intan Farhana’s Explorative Legal Journey

ADCO Law

Intan’s journey in the legal world is unique. Her self-exploration led her to take on various roles, one of which was as a notary. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Padjadjaran University, she began her career in the notary field. She worked as a notary assistant at two different offices for over four years while pursuing her master’s degree in notarial law at the University of Indonesia.
After several years working in the notary field, Intan felt the urge to explore further. She transitioned to a consultancy role, handling various tasks, from licensing to investments. At the consulting firm, she not only helped with company licensing and documentation but also assisted clients looking to invest in Indonesia. “I’ve always been curious about the practical aspects of the law,” Intan shared. This curiosity eventually led her into the practice of law itself.
In 2022, Intan began her career in lawyering by joining ADCO Law. This decision turned out to be a pivotal moment in her career. “I am the first lawyer in my family,” Intan shared. Despite lacking a familial background in the field, her curiosity and support from her family motivated her to pursue this path.
At ADCO Law, Intan found the variety and challenges she had been seeking. Currently, she handles various projects involving corporate law, contracts, restructuring, and more. “There’s so much more to learn here. One day I discuss mining, but the next day, it changes to electricity, then construction, and suddenly it’s about import-export. It’s exciting,” Intan remarked.
The diverse range of transactions and tasks provides her with continuous learning and growth opportunities.
Work, Life Balance, and Finding Meaning in Life
Balancing work and personal life is Intan’s biggest challenge. “I feel fortunate that ADCO Law allows for hybrid work, which helps me manage my time better,” she said. Despite the workload and deadlines, the hybrid system allows Intan to spend more time with her family, including her husband.
One of Intan’s favorite activities when working from home is cooking and enjoying meals with her family. Both food enthusiasts, Intan and her husband often experiment with new recipes and enjoy the meals together. “These moments make me feel closer to my family and provide the balance I need amidst my busy work schedule,” Intan mentioned. For her, sharing meals is an opportunity to exchange stories and happiness with her loved ones.
“To me, being a lawyer is not just about working; it’s also a journey to discover what I truly enjoy,” Intan explained.
Intan’s life principles play a crucial role in her career. She believes in the importance of always being kind to others. “Always be kind. The world may not always be kind to you, but at least we can strive to be that kindness for yourself and those around us,” she said. Her ability to view everything from a positive perspective, even in the worst situations, helps her face life’s challenges, including her career choice.
This principle has helped Intan thrive both in her career and personal life.
