Rian Wicaksana
Rian Wicaksana is an experienced litigator with more than a decade of litigation practice. He has experience in handling high-level litigation disputes in various areas of litigation practice, especially in commercial and employment disputes, consumer protection settlements, and civil and criminal litigation.
Prior to his current position at ADCO Law, he gained experience at several distinguished law firms in Indonesia as a member of the litigation and alternative dispute resolution practice group.
In addition to handling trade disputes, he has experienced in managing general and special business licenses and permits issued at every level of the government agency.

Practice Description
During his years of practice, Rian has been involved in numerous deals and transactions including:
- Assisted a leading integrated supply chain solutions provider and largest private sector distributor of petroleum and basic chemicals in taking over a company developing coal logistics facilities (roads and ports) in Tapin, South Kalimantan;
- Assisted a leading integrated supply chain solutions provider and largest private sector distributor of petroleum and basic chemicals in general corporate matters and other legal aspects of the company related to coal business operations in Indonesia and China;
- Represented clients in various commercial disputes such as Bank Guarantee disputes with a value of IDR 30.000.000.000 (thirty billion Rupiah), Bankruptcy cases with a disputed value of USD 1.000.000 (One million United States Dollar) and various other commercial disputes;
- Prepared Mine Development Agreements, Security Agreements, Sales and Purchase Agreement Terms, Consultation Agreements, Circular Resolutions, Claim Letters, Counter Plea and Rejoinder, Summons, Power of Attorney, Engagement Letters in both English and Indonesian;
- Provided Legal Opinions and Legal Advice on Haul Road and Build-Operate-Transfer Arrangements, Mining area tenders, and in connection with trials at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre;
- Lead counsel representing a leading integrated supply chain solutions provider and largest private sector distributor of petroleum and basic chemicals, as the claimant in the suspension of debt payment obligation (Penundaan Kewajiban Pembayaran Utang, “PKPU”) case against its debtor’s guarantor, as the defendant with an outstanding debt of IDR 190 billion before the Commercial Court at the District Court of Semarang;
- Legal counsel to a securities company’s customer as the Defendant in an arbitration hearing at the Indonesian Capital Market Arbitration Board (BAPMI) regarding a lawsuit for default of the Special Customer Facility Agreement;
- Counsel for a sugar company in Lampung as Plaintiff in the trial of a lawsuit for the cancellation of a debt, credit and guarantee agreement and guarantee with a disputed value of USD 250,000,000.00 (two hundred and fifty million United States dollars at the Central Jakarta District Court (at the appeal level at the DKI Jakarta High Court and the cassation level at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia).
- Counsel representing one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aircraft turbines in handling commercial disputes against its customers in Indonesia related to an engine supply and services agreement.
- Handled, advised and formulated regulations guiding the implementation of revenue management in one of the Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) engaged in the procurement and management of underground transportation.
