ADCO Care In House Training BSI Mining Law: Regulations and Challenges

BSI - After Event

Jakarta, September 5, 2023 – Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) recently held an In-House Training as part of the ADCO Care program to emphasize the importance of legal knowledge in the mining industry. The event featured our Senior Partner, Dendi Adisuryo, as the trainer.

Dendi discussed various topics related to the legal aspects of mining as a complex industry in which the business players must navigate various regulatory frameworks and legal elements in order to operate successfully. Specifically, in the case of the nickel industry in Indonesia, both the upstream and downstream sectors are subject to a regulatory framework that poses ongoing challenges for investors. These challenges are particularly critical to the financial industry from a lender’s perspective, where understanding the intricacies of the law is crucial for successful investment in the industry.

“Mining is a complex and regulated industry, and it is important for everyone involved to have a strong understanding of the legal landscape,” said Dendi Adisuryo. “I hope that this training will help the participants from BSI gain a better understanding of the legal challenges faced by the mining industry in Indonesia and make informed decisions related to their clients’ activities.”

The training was well-received by the participants, who appreciated the opportunity to learn from ADCO Law experts.

ADCO Law is committed to providing its clients with the legal knowledge and expertise they need to succeed in the mining industry. The firm’s ADCO Care program offers a variety of training and educational opportunities to help mining companies, investors, government officials, and everyone involved in the industry to stay up-to-date on the latest legal developments.

In addition to the legal aspects of mining, the training also covered the environmental and social impacts. Dendi Adisuryo stressed the importance of considering these impacts when planning and carrying out mining activities.

The training was a valuable opportunity for the participants to learn about the legal, environmental, and social aspects of mining. “Mining can significantly impact the environment and the communities where it takes place,” said Dendi Adisuryo. “It is important to minimize these impacts and to ensure that mining is carried out sustainably.”
